Accessibility Statement

At Loch Tay Adventures, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the incredible natural beauty and wildlife of Scotland’s lochs and hills. We are committed to making our website, booking process, and outdoor experiences as accessible and inclusive as possible.

We recognise that "accessibility" applies to a wide range of needs, including physical mobility, sensory impairments, neurodiversity, and hidden disabilities. Below is an honest, practical guide to what you can expect when booking and participating in an adventure with us.

Digital Accessibility (Our Website)

We want our website to be accessible to everyone. We aim to design our digital content so that it can be easily read and navigated by users with screen readers, visual impairments, or alternative navigation preferences.

  • Text & Contrast: We aim for clear, high-contrast text and legible fonts.

  • Alternative Text: We work to provide descriptive alt-text for images that convey critical information.

  • Feedback: If you encounter any digital barriers while trying to navigate our site or book an activity, please let us know so we can fix it immediately.

Physical Access & Environment

Because our activities take place in natural, undeveloped outdoor settings, the terrain can present natural challenges. Here is a realistic overview of our primary operating environments:

  • Lochside & Launch Locations: Our launch sites around Loch Tay vary. Some locations feature uneven shoreline paths, gravel, grassy banks, or slippery stones near the water’s edge.

  • Parking & Distances: Depending on the specific tour or launch point, there may be a short walk from the parking area to the water (ranging from a few meters to a short trail walk).

  • Toilets & Facilities: Public or venue-specific accessible facilities vary depending on our exact meeting point. When confirming your booking location, we will gladly provide specific details on the nearest accessible toilets.

Adapting Our Activities (Paddlesports & Tours)

We pride ourselves on adapting our delivery to meet the individual needs of our guests wherever safely possible.

  • Paddlesports (Canoeing, Kayaking, SUP): We can often adapt our seating, outfitting, and pacing to support individuals with limited mobility, core stability needs, or sensory preferences. Open canoes can be particularly stable and versatile platforms for tandem or assisted paddling.

  • Beaver & Wildlife Tours: These tours are designed to be informative and relaxed. Pacing can be adapted, and we encourage guests to discuss any specific sensory or physical needs with us in advance so we can choose the smoothest, most appropriate route.

  • Neurodiversity & Learning Disabilities: Our staff are experienced, patient outdoor professionals. We welcome neurodivergent individuals and can provide clear, visual safety briefings, adapt our communication style, or structure sessions to reduce sensory overload.

Essential Safety Requirements

While we make every reasonable adjustment, the dynamic nature of open-water environments means certain safety baselines must be met for the well-being of all participants. All guests must be able to:

  • Wear a properly fitted buoyancy aid or personal flotation device (PFD) provided by us.

  • Follow essential, time-critical safety instructions given by the guide in the event of an emergency.

  • Manage independent head control while on the water.

How to Discuss Your Needs With Us

Because every individual's requirements are unique, the best way to ensure a fantastic experience is to speak with us before booking. We treat all disclosures with absolute respect, confidentiality, and a proactive "how can we make this work" attitude.
